![]() The consequence if this special feature is that the program does not show every images twice, once the raw then the JPEG, as general-purpose viewers do. The program intelligently detects this condition and groups (or "stacks") the two files together and treat them as one image. Note that the program recognize the special RAW+JPEG shooting mode available on some top cameras, where two files are written for each picture taken: the raw file (NEF, CR2, SR2 etc, depending on the camera brand) and a JPEG file with the same base name. I'm gonna download the trial on this rig to check out the new version. Haven't needed any heavy culling in recent years, so I'm not up to speed on current versions, but worth a look. I ended up purchasing the FastPictureViewer. I demo'd (about 8-10 years ago) FastRawViewer as well, and Photo Mechanic, too. IIRC, I had mine set at 300% for peeping.ĭemo video (about 7 minutes) half-way down the page. 1 defaulted at 100%, the other you could set to your choice. Had a nice 2 step option for loupe / zoom viewing. I had it on my old rig, and it was pretty quick. I just noticed there is a very similar named program named FastRawViewer vs Fastone image seems to have some good info there but I'm wondering if much has changed over the years. Does anyone here have any experience with this FastRawViewer? Thoughts? Just did some Google digging around and this old FM thread popped up from 2017. Worse case I'd just leave all Jpegs on the laptop until I get home but would be nice to thin the herd as much as possible for storage reasons. I'll be sleep deprived as it is.Īlso, I might be shooting Raw + Jpeg and am curious if there is a way to delete say the raw file during culling and automatically delete the identical Jpegs at the same time. I want this as streamline as possible as I don't want to spend a lot of time each night before bed doing this. Is there a way to configure Fastoneviewer to make this process faster? Once my first pass culling is done I'll be backing everything up to an external drive for redundancy/safety.ĭoes anyone have a recommendation for a software that is quick and allows fast 1:1 viewing for culling? I use LR & PS on my main home PC and plan on simply importing all the culled folders of images when I get home to begin processing. I will be using a Dell laptop for this and have already installed Fastoneviewer but it seems a little cumbersome from my brief test run. I'm trying to find a simple and fast way to cull through my daily photos while traveling. I recall seeing an old thread here about various software people use for culling when they are traveling but can not find it.
